Tajikistan imported more than twice its domestic fish output in first half of 2026

Tajikistan imported about 4,560 metric tons of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and other aquatic products worth 13.37 $ million in the first six months of 2026.
Domestic fish production during the same period amounted to just over 2,000 metric tons, according to official statistics.
Russia dominates fish imports
Compared with the first half of 2025, the volume of imports increased by about 9,2%, while their value rose by 16,3%, Customs Service data show.
Between January and June 2025, Tajikistan imported approximately 4,170 metric tons of fish and aquatic products worth 11.49 $ million.
Russia was by far the largest supplier, accounting for about 93% of the total import volume and more than 90% of its value.
Tajikistan imported around 4,240 metric tons of products from Russia worth approximately 12.1 $ million.
Vietnam ranked second, supplying 256.2 metric tons worth 985,400. $ Uruguay exported 55.6 metric tons valued at 199,300. $
Smaller volumes also came from Kazakhstan, Iran, Belarus, Uzbekistan, India, France and Japan.
Imports from CIS countries were valued at 12.14 $ million, while shipments from non-CIS countries amounted to 1.23 $ million.
