Putin and Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the growth of trade turnover and the progress of construction of the drama theater and Center for Gifted Children in Dushanbe

Presidents of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Russia Vladimir Putin discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, the development of trade and economic cooperation, investments, energy, humanitarian ties, and regional security issues. The meeting of the leaders of the two countries took place on September 1 in Bishkek on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The parties paid special attention to strengthening strategic partnership and allied relations, as well as cooperation in the security sphere, including the situation in the region, reports the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
Vladimir Putin noted positive dynamics in the economic cooperation between the two countries. According to him, last year trade turnover between Russia and Tajikistan grew by 25,1%, and in the first half of this year increased by another 25%.
The Russian leader also reported that 320 enterprises with Russian participation are operating in Tajikistan, and more than 96% of mutual settlements are carried out in national currencies.
