About 25,000 minors among Tajik citizens in Russia’s controlled persons registry

Approximately 160,000 citizens of Tajikistan are currently included in Russia’s registry of controlled persons, including around 25,000 minors, Tajik Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment Sharif Norzoda said at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 13.
«Currently, 160,000 citizens of Tajikistan are included in the registry of controlled persons, of whom 25,000 are minors,» Norzoda said.
According to the deputy minister, most of the minors were entered into the registry as members of families who had traveled to Russia.
The Ministry of Labor said the information in the registry is updated every four hours.
Russia’s registry of controlled persons has been in operation since February 5, 2025. It includes foreign nationals who no longer have legal grounds to remain in the country.
Those included in the registry are placed under a deportation regime and face a number of restrictions. These include limitations on changing their place of residence, driving vehicles, purchasing property and carrying out certain banking transactions.
Asia-Plus previously reported that more than 120,000 Tajik citizens were included in a list published by the Russian authorities in October 2024.
In November 2025, the Tajik Ministry of Labor’s representative office in Russia reported that the number had exceeded 150,000, around 30,000 more than the earlier figure.
