Asia-Plus launches new “Tojikon” video project on the history of the Tajik people
To mark the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, the Asia-Plus Media Group is launching a new educational video project, «Tojikon» («Tajiks»), dedicated to the history of the Tajik people, their heroes, culture, major events and historical memory.
The project aims to present history in a simple, modern and accessible format, particularly for younger audiences. Each episode will offer a short, vivid and engaging account of prominent historical figures, important events, legendary chapters of the past and facts that inspire national pride.
The project will consist of short videos in Tajik and Russian, published across Asia-Plus platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Telegram.
Artificial intelligence technology will be used to create the project’s visual content, allowing historical scenes, cities, battles, past eras and prominent figures to be recreated in a modern, cinematic style.
At the same time, the subject, script, facts and final presentation of each episode will be reviewed by a historian-consultant to ensure accuracy and respectful treatment of historical material.
The first episode, produced in Tajik, focuses on Nusratullo Makhsoum, one of the key figures in the establishment of Tajik statehood in the 20th century.
In just a few minutes, the video tells the story of a man born into a peasant family in Rasht who became one of the republic’s first leaders and consistently defended the Tajik people’s right to their own statehood. In 1937, he became a victim of political repression and was executed.
