Six people were killed in a road accident in Farkhor district of Khatlon province after two passenger vehicles collided, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

Preliminary information indicates that a Hyundai Service driven by 19-year-old Muhammad Idriszoda, a resident of the Gulshan jamoat in Farkhor district, was traveling from Khatlon’s Vose district toward Farkhor when the driver lost control and collided with a Toyota Corolla.
The Toyota was driven by 34-year-old Oyatullo Tursunov, a resident of the Istiqlol jamoat in Farkhor district.
Both drivers and four passengers suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, the ministry said.
The accident comes just days after another deadly crash on July 2 along the Dushanbe–Kulob–Khorog highway near the village of Elok outside Vahdat township.
Initial reports, based on videos shared on social media, said seven people had been killed. The Interior Ministry later confirmed that the death toll had risen to 11.
According to investigators, a Dulan (heavy-duty Chinese truck commonly used in Tajikistan) driven by Firdavs Abdulloyev, a resident of Khatlon’s Yovon district, suffered a brake failure before colliding with an Opel Zafira and then a Toyota Prado. Those killed included the truck driver, the Prado driver, and nine passengers traveling in the two cars. Four other people were injured.
Authorities said one of the injured has since been discharged from Vahdat Central Hospital, another has been transferred to the Istiqlol Hospital in Dushanbe, while two patients remain in serious condition.
Investigations into both crashes are ongoing, and authorities are working to establish the full circumstances and causes of the accidents.
