EU-Tajikistan: 12th Cooperation Committee meeting held in Brussels
The European Union (EU) and the Republic of Tajikistan held their twelfth annual Cooperation Committee meeting on 19 June 2026.
According to press release issued by the EU Delegation to Tajikistan, the two sides exchanged on bilateral relations, and discussed socio-economic developments and reforms, including economic cooperation, trade, Global Gateway investments, water, energy, environment and climate, as well as the human rights situation, rule of law and good governance. The discussions also touched upon regional and international developments, including regarding Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and current geopolitical challenges.
The Parties reportedly also took stock of the ongoing preparations for the signature of the European Union — Tajikistan Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, with the aim to finalise the process in the near future. Both sides agreed that the new Agreement will bring the bilateral relations to a new ambitious level.
They reiterated their strong commitment to advancing cooperation under the bilateral and regional frameworks. The European Union confirmed its continued support to the stability and prosperity of the Republic of Tajikistan and its continued reform efforts.
The Cooperation Committee meeting was chaired by the European External Action Deputy Managing Director, Mrs. Audrone Perkauskiene, on behalf of the European Union, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mr. Ahliddin Nuriddinzoda, on behalf of the Republic of Tajikistan.
