Well-known Tajik singer Firouz Pallayev dies in Dushanbe

On December 16, well-known Tajik singer Firouz Pallayev passed away in Dushanbe at the age of 45. Preliminary reports suggest that the cause of death was a heart attack.
The farewell ceremony and funeral for Firouz Pallayev are scheduled to take place today in Dushanbe, according to Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service, known locally as Radio Ozodi.
Firouz, the son of the renowned Tajik hafiz Dushanbe Pallayev, gained fame for performing traditional melodies in a modern pop and rock style.
According to the singer’s family and close friends, on the morning of December 16, Firouz began feeling unwell and went to clinic No. 13, where he later died from a heart attack.
Firouz Pallayev was leader and soloist of the «Sarez» group and performed songs primarily in Tajik and Pamiri languages.
He also reinterpreted several songs of his father, which were mostly in the folk and traditional Pamiri styles, adding modern elements to them.
The song «Ichathta Tar Ta Nachasom,» with lyrics by Sardor Rahdor, is considered one of the most popular songs of this singer among young people in recent years.
