Belgian Prime Minister may resign on Monday — newspaper

​Prime Minister of Belgium Bart De Wever may resign after the meeting with King Philippe on Monday, De Standaard newspaper reports, citing a source.

Unsuccessful attempts to coordinate the budget may become the reason to step down from the office.

According to the news outlet, the Belgian government «is in a deep crisis.» It is not yet clear whether the king consents to the resignation of the prime minister or gives more time to settle the crisis, the newspaper added.
