LIVE: Israel kills 7 children as offensive reaches the ‘heart of Gaza City’
- Israeli forces have killed at least 30 people across Gaza on Friday, with seven children among 20 killed in attacks on densely-populated residential areas of Gaza City, as Al Jazeera’s correspondent reports that the offensive to seize control of the capital has reached «the heart of the city».
- Israel’s army claimed it now controls 40 percent of Gaza City and has expanded its assault on residential homes and displacement camps, with the UN children’s fund (UNICEF) describing the current situation as «unthinkable».
