Emomali Rahmon commissioned new residential buildings for earthquake-affected residents of Tajikabad
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has commissioned new residential buildings for residents of the Langari Shoh jamoat in the Tajikabad district affected by the earthquake in April this year. Today, on August 26, the head of state went on a working trip to the cities and districts of the Rasht Valley.

Homesteads have been allocated in the new settlement for the affected families, 36 houses have been built, including 14 four-room houses for families whose houses were completely destroyed, and 22 two-room houses for those whose houses were partially destroyed.

All houses are fully equipped with household items. The residential buildings are built according to modern designs using high-quality building materials and include bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and other rooms.

«The new settlement is provided with the necessary infrastructure, including drinking water, roads, electricity, a medical and obstetric center, a sports ground and other necessary facilities. To provide the population with drinking water, an 11 km long water supply line has been installed, 2,500 meters of roads inside the village have been paved, and the streets are equipped with lighting,» the presidential press service said.
As a result of the earthquake on April 13, 2025, 471 objects were damaged in 13 villages of the Tajikabad district. Among them, 33 residential buildings were completely destroyed, 164 houses were partially damaged, 3 educational institutions, 2 paramedic and obstetric centers, a district hospital and other infrastructure facilities were damaged.

The total damage amounted to about 8 million somoni, the press service reports.

It is noted that with the support of the government of the country, residential buildings for 197 families were built and commissioned in the villages of Kalai Labi Ob and Langari Shoh in 4 months.

A significant part of the villages of the district are located in areas of increased seismic danger, therefore, the head of state instructed those responsible to continue to build residential buildings and other social facilities in compliance with earthquake-resistant construction standards and using high-quality materials so that they are resistant to natural disasters.

Here, Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with the projects of new facilities that will be built in the near future in the village of Langari Shokh — a comprehensive school for 600 students with two shifts, a kindergarten for 100 children and other social facilities.

The President also commissioned five new facilities online, including the building of secondary school No. 44 in Safedmun village, a medical and obstetric center, a water supply line for 557 farms, a primary health care facility and an additional building of the Child Development Center.
