Tajikistan presented investment projects at Global Green Development Week (GGGWeek2025)
On October 31, 2025, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, A.A. Solekzoda, participated and spoke at the 14th joint meeting of the General Assembly and the 18th meeting of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), as well as at the events of the Global Green Growth Week (GGGWeek2025), which were held in Seoul (Republic of Korea) via videoconference, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan reported . Solehzoda noted that, at the initiative of the country’s President and Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan is implementing the Green Economy Development Strategy for 2023–2037. He emphasized that the government is taking all necessary measures to transform the country into a «green state» and has already achieved significant results in this direction. It was noted that 98% of the country’s electricity is generated from renewable sources, and a state program for greening the Republic’s territory has been adopted.
To implement green projects in Tajikistan, it was deemed necessary to attract funding from international organizations and various foundations within the framework of GGGI activities. In this regard, A.A. Solekzoda presented a number of investment projects and important initiatives aimed at developing cooperation between Tajikistan and GGGI.
Furthermore, the Deputy Minister emphasized the Republic of Tajikistan’s readiness to actively participate in shaping the Institute’s agenda in the future and expressed confidence that GGGI will become the country’s key partner in matters of sustainable development, a just energy transition, and the development of a green economy. Following the meeting and discussions, the GGGI Strategy for 2026–2030 was approved.
It should be noted that since October 25, 2024, the Republic of Tajikistan has been a full member of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
