Khatlon official detained on suspicion of corruption
Khatlon official and his accomplice have demanded money from resident of the Balkhi district for allocation of land for housing, according to the anticorruption agency press center. Dodarjon Saidov, an official with the Land Management Committee of Khatlon’s Balkhi District and his accomplice Ashourboy Sohibov reportedly demanded 40,000 somoni from local resident “A” for allocation of land for housing.
They have been caught red-handed while taking money from “A”.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them under the provisions of Article 247 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – large-scale fraud; an investigation is under way.
