Three persons were detained with 44.410 kilograms of narcotic drugs in Dushanbe at the beginning of this year, Director of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan, Sherkhon Salimzoda, told reporters in Dushanbe on February 14.
According to him, a totaled included 39 kilograms of raw opium and 5.410 kilograms of hashish.
“One of the detainees is national of Afghanistan and two others are citizens of Tajikistan,” Tajik drug control chief said.   
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained persons and an investigation is under way.   
Last month, drug control officers detected 15 drug-related crimes and seized 46.470 kilograms of narcotic drugs, Salimzoda added.
