Two executives of Dushanbe construction company declared wanted over alleged fraud
The head of Khon-2009 LLC and his deputy are suspected of large-scale fraud and document forgery, according to police.
Two senior executives of Dushanbe-based construction company Khon-2009 LLC have been declared wanted on suspicion of large-scale fraud and document forgery, the Dushanbe Police Department reported.
The suspects are the company’s director, Manouchehr Azizzoda, and his deputy, Khurshedshoh Korov. According to investigators, they allegedly used forged documents to change the designated purpose of the first floor of a residential building located on Saadi Sherozi Avenue in Dushanbe.
Under the approved construction project, the premises were intended to be used as a kindergarten. However, law enforcement authorities say the space was instead sold to seven citizens as commercial property.
In one of the alleged cases, the suspects reportedly received 1.15 million somoni from a citizen for a 100-square-meter space intended for a future store, according to the police.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Azizzoda and Korov under Article 247, part 4 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code — fraud committed on a particularly large scale.
