Tajik chess players win two medals at international tournament in Hungary

Tajik chess players won two medals at the Budapest One Week August 2026 international tournament in Hungary, with brothers Mustafokhouja and Muhammad Huseinkhojayev both finishing in the top three.
Mustafokhouja Huseinkhojayev won the tournament, while his brother Muhammad finished third.
The battle for first place was closely contested, with three players ending the nine-round tournament on seven points each. The final standings were decided by tie-break criteria, which placed Mustafokhouja first. Muhammad, who also scored seven points out of a possible nine, took third place.
