Tajikistan begins preparations for military parade marking 35 years of independence
Tajikistan has begun preparations for a military parade marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.
A planning meeting was held at the Ministry of Defense on July 28 and chaired by Security Council Secretary Yusuf Rahmon, who holds the rank of Colonel-General of Justice.
According to the ministry’s press center, the meeting was convened to implement instructions issued by President Emomali Rahmon, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, on preparations for the anniversary celebrations.
The meeting brought together senior Defense Ministry officials, representatives of security and law enforcement agencies, commanders of the branches of the Armed Forces, and the heads of regions, cities and districts. Some participants joined remotely.
The discussion focused on the readiness of personnel, coordination between military units, drill training, discipline and the implementation of the main elements of the parade program.
Following the meeting, officials responsible for the preparations were instructed to intensify training and ensure that the parade is held at a high organizational level.
The Defense Ministry said events marking the 35th anniversary of independence would take place not only in Dushanbe but also in the administrative centers of all regions, cities and districts.
Mass processions are expected to be held with the participation of representatives of local authorities, ministries, government agencies, organizations and institutions.
