Alexei Zolotukhin appointed Rector of RTSU: what is known about him
Lawyer and professor Alexei Zolotukhin has risen from graduate of the Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University to its rector.
Zolotukhin, 43, was appointed rector of RTSU by a Tajik government decree dated July 17. He previously served as first vice-rector and vice-rector for science and innovation.
Education and academic qualifications
Alexei Zolotukhin was born on March 9, 1983, in Hisor, Tajikistan.
He graduated from the RTSU Faculty of Law in 2005 with a degree in jurisprudence.
Zolotukhin holds a Doctor of Sciences degree in law and the academic title of professor. He is married and has two children. He is fluent in Russian and Tajik and has a working knowledge of English.
Professional career
Zolotukhin has spent most of his professional and academic career at RTSU:
Since 2016, he has served as an arbitrator at the International Commercial Arbitration Court under Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the CIS Economic Court.
Four candidate theses and one doctoral thesis in law have been successfully defended under his academic supervision.
Academic work
Zolotukhin has authored or co-authored more than 100 academic and educational publications.
They include five university textbooks recommended by Tajikistan’s Ministry of Education and Science, three study guides, five teaching and methodological manuals, two practical workbooks and three academic monographs.
Awards and honors
Zolotukhin has received several state and departmental awards, including the Khizmati Shoista Medal, the title of Honorary Worker of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ismoil Somoni Prize for Young Scientists in Science and Technology.
He has also received a Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Tajikistan and Rossotrudnichestvo’s honorary badge «For Friendship and Cooperation,» as well as other awards and commendations.
One of his most recent honors was a letter of appreciation from Anton Kobyakov, adviser to the Russian president, for his contribution to the preparation and organization of the 12th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, held in June 2024.
