Tajik entrepreneur awarded Silk Road Medal in Mongolia
Asia-Plus — Sharifbek Davlatov, chairman of the board of directors of Lesinvest LLC, has received Mongolia’s honorary Silk Road Medal at the Tajikistan–Mongolia Business Forum in Ulaanbaatar.
The award was presented during an official ceremony by the chairman of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to Tajikistan’s State Committee on Investment and State Property Management.
The committee said the Silk Road Medal is one of Mongolia’s highest honors in the field of entrepreneurship and is awarded for contributions to the development of business and trade relations.
According to figures presented by the Mongolian side, Davlatov’s cooperation with Mongolian partners accounted for about 80% of Mongolia’s exports to Tajikistan and 95% of Tajikistan’s exports to Mongolia in 2025–2026.
Speakers at the ceremony noted that Tajikistan and Mongolia had maintained trade ties since ancient times through the routes of the Great Silk Road and said entrepreneurs from the two countries were continuing that tradition.
Davlatov attributed his achievements to the Tajik government’s open-door policy and the conditions created for the development of entrepreneurship since independence.
According to the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management (GosKomInvest), Lesinvest cooperates with Mongolian companies to supply meat products to Tajikistan. The committee said environmentally friendly meat was being imported at prices up to 40% lower than those on the domestic market.
