Filmmaker Muhiddin Muzaffar: “Asia-Plus is a trusted source for the intellectual community”
Renowned Tajik film director and head of the private film studio Dovfilm, Muhiddin Muzaffar, has praised Asia-Plus for its contribution to the country’s cultural and intellectual life, describing the media group as a reliable source trusted by Tajikistan’s intellectual community.
Speaking on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Asia-Plus, Muzaffar said the outlet’s cultural and analytical publications play an important role in the development of cinema and theater.
According to him, such materials are as essential to the cultural environment «as water is to the roots of a tree,» helping audiences approach works of art with greater understanding and appreciation.
Muzaffar highlighted what he sees as one of Asia-Plus’s key strengths — its team of journalists who specialize in a wide range of fields, from culture to agriculture and economics.
«The high level of professionalism of Asia-Plus journalists is evident from just the first few sentences they write,» the director said.
He also emphasized the growing importance of trusted media outlets in an era when artificial intelligence has made it easier to create and spread false information.
«At a time when disinformation is spreading faster than ever, the existence of a reliable source such as Asia-Plus is a necessity for society,» Muzaffar said.
The filmmaker suggested that the media group expand its international reach by launching a version of its publication in Persian script and opening representative offices in Iran, Russia, and the United States.
«This would make the voice of Tajiks around the world even more influential and unifying,» he noted.
Commenting on the role of the publication in today’s information landscape, Muzaffar stressed the high level of public trust it enjoys.
«In these sensitive times, it is extremely important to have a source we can trust. I believe that today the entire intellectual community of Tajikistan trusts Asia-Plus,» he said.
Congratulating the media group on its anniversary, Muzaffar wished the organization continued growth and success.
«I hope this national media outlet will continue its work for many centuries and contribute to the development of public thought and civic awareness,» he said.
Asia-Plus traces its origins to April 2, 1996, when its first news and analytical bulletin was published. Over the past three decades, it has grown into one of Tajikistan’s leading media organizations, bringing together a weekly newspaper, a radio station, and a news agency that provide content in Tajik, Russian, and English to millions of readers, listeners, and online
