The first wind power plant to be launched in the Murgab district
The first wind power plant with a capacity of 200 kW is planned to be commissioned in the Murgab district of GBAO, reports the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the project is being implemented by the company «Pamir Energy».
The ministry notes that the project is being implemented within the framework of the «Rural Electrification» program. It is carried out with the support of the government of Tajikistan and the World Bank.
As part of this program, 22 solar power plants have already been built in remote villages of the Murgab district. Their total capacity is 13 MW.

In addition, «Pamir Energy» intends to commission 7 more new solar power plants with a total capacity of 540 kW.
The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that such projects are of great importance for the development of renewable energy in the country. They are also aimed at strengthening energy security, supporting the green economy, and providing electricity to residents of mountainous areas.
These projects are of particular importance for remote settlements in the Murgab district, where the development of energy infrastructure helps improve the population’s access to electricity.
In the remote mountainous regions of Tajikistan, renewable energy continues to be developed. Within the framework of the «Rural Electrification» program, implemented with the support of the government of Tajikistan and the World Bank, dozens of solar power plants have already been built in the Murgab district, and now the first wind power plant is being prepared for launch
