Tajik wrestler signs contract with Indian professional league
Tajik freestyle wrestler Mustafo Ahmadov has taken a significant step in his sporting career, signing a contract with the ORKA Wrestling League, an international professional wrestling organization based in India.
Competing in the 74-kilogram weight category, Ahmadov is expected to make his debut in the league in the near future. The move marks his entry into the professional wrestling arena and opens a new chapter in his career.
Founded by Orka Sport, the ORKA Wrestling League is a relatively new but rapidly developing organization that brings together top wrestlers from around the world.
One of the league’s distinctive features is its flexible contract system, which allows athletes to compete in other professional competitions while remaining part of the organization.

The league welcomed the signing of the Tajik wrestler in an official statement.
«ORKA Wrestling League announces the signing of Mustafo Ahmadov. Representing Tajikistan, he joins the league as an experienced international wrestler and bronze medalist of the 2026 Asian Championships. He is ready to challenge the best wrestlers in the world,» the statement said.
Ahmadov is regarded as one of Tajikistan’s most promising freestyle wrestlers. Born on January 2, 2002, in the village of Chorkuh in Isfara district, Sughd province, he developed his skills through a combination of Tajik wrestling traditions and the renowned Dagestani training system.
He began wrestling at the age of 12 at the Olympic Reserve School in Khasavyurt, Russia’s Dagestan Republic, under the guidance of coach Ali Iskhakov. Ahmadov is known for his aggressive style, high pace, and constant pressure on opponents.
Over the past several years, he has achieved notable success on the international stage. His accomplishments include a silver medal at the 2021 CIS Games, a bronze medal at the 2022 Asian U23 Championships, a silver medal at the 2023 Asian U23 Championships, two national championship titles, and a bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Wrestling Championships.
His podium finish at the 2026 continental championships is believed to have played a key role in securing the contract with ORKA Wrestling League.
For Ahmadov, the move represents more than just participation in another tournament. Competing in the professional league will provide an opportunity to test himself against stronger opponents, adapt to new wrestling styles, and gain valuable experience at a higher level of competition.
