Tajik sambists won four medals at the Asian and Oceania Cadet Championships
Young sambists of Tajikistan won four medals at the Asian and Oceania Cadet Championships, which took place on in Aktau, Kazakhstan on May 18-19.
The continental tournament brought together the strongest young athletes in the region. The competitions were held at the Halyk Arena sports complex, where awards were contested in 18 weight categories — 9 each for boys and girls.
In this competition, representatives of Tajikistan managed to reach the podium in several weight categories.
The main successes came in the form of silver medals. In the 49 kg weight category, Muhammadi Mirzozoda reached the final and became the vice-champion of Asia and Oceania. Umar Boboaliyev achieved the same result in the 53 kg category, where he also managed to reach the decisive match and won silver.

Two more representatives of Tajikistan were awarded bronze medals. Ismoil Mahmoudov climbed to the third step of the podium in the 79 kg category, and Abubakr Sayedzoda became the bronze medalist in the 88 kg category.
Thus, the result for the Tajikistan team was two silver and two bronze medals. This result is especially valuable considering the level of the tournament and the age of the participants, as it refers to cadets — the future of the team.
